Hamish qualified from Unitec after completing the Bachelor of Applied Science and the post graduate Masters of Osteopathy. The Unitec course is five years long and involves a comprehensive education in anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical skills as well as two years working in the student clinic treating patients. Since qualifying Hamish has worked in private clinics in Papakura and Howick before deciding to take over at Orewa Osteopathy early in 2008. In addition to his Osteopathic credentials Hamish is a qualified Pilates instructor. Hamish has experience in a wide variety of Osteopathic techniques including structural and cranial Osteopathy.
Hamish is passionate about his work and feels strongly about establishing the true cause for a patients problems rather than simply treating symptomatically. He feels that treating the body as a whole and looking at the "big picture" gives longer lasting results. Hamish has supplied two working examples of patients he has recently treated to illustrate how more distant factors in the body can affect tissues a long way away from an area of dysfunction.
Hamish is a registered to practice in New Zealand by the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand. For more details about the council and the requirements an Osteopath must meet in order to become registered please visit the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand online.
Nicholas has recently qualified from the Master of Osteopathy program at Unitec. He is now very keen to apply the knowledge that he gained during the five year course. During his study he became particularly interested in treating sports injuries and providing rehabilitation to sportsmen and women.
Nicholas has previously been a representative soccer player and elite athlete, and having spent many hours under the guidance of manual therapists, understands intimately the burden of injury upon sports people. It is from this personal standpoint that he would like to offer his services in helping clients meet their goals and return to full fitness.

"I believe that the underlying cause of illness and dysfunction in our bodies is stress, stress is an imbalance in one or more areas of our lives, stress can be of a physical (strain, injury and tension), mental (overwork and worry), emotional (difficult relationships, grief), environmental (diet, air pollution) or spiritual nature, I aim to help reduce and relieve stress in the body and mind through using various body therapies to aid in bringing balance back into people’s lives and thus helping them to regain and retain good health and positivity."

Jan Stein comes from a financial and banking background, where she spent many years working with people assisting them to make decisions with their money. After being a bank manager for 10 years, she decided that she no longer wished to spend long hours working in an industry that no longer held a passion for her. After the birth of her children Jan and her husband purchased a small business which has now grown to be one of the largest total mobility transport operators in Auckland.
It was during this period that Jan began her in-depth journey of self discovery. During this period Jan has studied and practiced many modalities. Her philosophy is working with individuals in a holistic way - bringing wholeness to all areas of an individual's life - Mental, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual and Financial, with your own timing, rhythm and patterns.
"Each one of us has our own blueprint, one size does not fit all, and your soul, personality and life experiences create who you are."
Jan practices life coaching/counseling, hypnotherapy and reconnective healing at the clinic.
Please contact her on 027 4741932 if you require an appointment.
